FINE mode

Depending on the irregularity of the surface,

measurement cannot be performed correctly

because of insufficient reflective light.

FINE mode is the function used to scan the

[WIDTH/INTERVAL] (pitch) set in the scanning setting

with a greater degree of fine pitch to obtain sharper

results.

This function provides more stable measurement of

the profile waveform.

The procedure used to set the FINE mode is

explained as follows.

1

Select [SCAN] from [BASIC] on the program

mode screen.

The scan setting screen appears.

2

Set [WIDTH/INTERVAL] of the scanning.

Refer to "SCAN" (page 4-14) for setting of

[WIDTH/INTERVAL].

3

Select [FINE MODE].

4

Select [ON] by using the [

] and [] buttons.

5

Press the [ENTER] button.

FINE mode is set.

When [FINE MODE] is [ON], more accurate profile

measurement can be performed, but the button

response and measurement takes longer than usual.

Set this function considering the required degree of

accuracy.
