to list all control cards currently in UniConfig and their IP addresses in

the ‘IP Address’ column. Double-click on an IP address to have the address appear in the
‘IP Address’ field.

The added control card name and IP address appear in the ‘Control Cards’ pane. To display
all control cards currently added to the network without looking at the ‘Control Cards’ pane,

c Repeat step a and step b until all control cards on all routers on the network display in the

‘Control Cards’ pane.

6 To close the ‘Control Card Configuration’ dialog box, click

X

in the upper, right-hand corner.

Communicating with a Control Card on a Network

Once a router’s control card(s) have been added to a network, you can communicate with the con-
trol cards through any workstation on the network.

The router should currently exist on a network. (See

Adding a Control Card to a Network

on page

41.) However, at any time, communication between the router and UniConfig can be initiated by
using the temporary serial connection on the control card(s). (See

Launching UniConfig

on page 9.)

How to Communicate with a Device on the Network

1 Launch UniConfig. (See

2 Open the ‘Control Cards’ pane. (See

Control Cards Pane

on page 7.) The ‘Control Card’ pane

appears, as shown in Figure 7-1.

3 Select a control card. (See

Selecting a Control Card

on page 10.)

4 On the ‘Control Cards’ pane, select the control card you want to communicate with.

5 Click

Read All

. The ‘Configuration’ window populates with the current router configuration and

serial and Ethernet settings and initiates communication with the selected control card.

Viewing Control Cards on a Network

Control cards currently residing on a network can be viewed at any time. The router should cur-
rently exist on a network. (See

Adding a Control Card to a Network

on page 41.)

How to View Control Cards on a Network

1 Launch UniConfig. (See

2 Open the ‘Control Cards’ pane. (See
