Updating Input/Output Switching
Standard Signals
The ‘X-Y/Standard’ tab displays for all routers except the NV5256. If no partitions have been set
up, this tab is inactive. (See
Managing Partitions and Signal Types
on page 49.) Switching can only
be changed for a single input and single output at a time. For managing multiple switching configu-
rations, use the router control system.
How to Update a Standard Switching Configuration
1 Launch UniConfig. (See
2 Select a control card. (See
3 From the menu bar, select ‘Window > Connections’. The ‘Connections’ window appears with
blank fields. (See Figure 10-6 on page 93.)
4 Select the ‘X-Y/Standard’ tab.
5 To view current switching configuration, in the ‘Physical Output Range’ section, enter a ‘Start’
and ‘End’ number in the fields provided and click
Read Outputs
. The corresponding inputs and
outputs display on the tab, as shown in Figure 10-6 on page 93.
6 In the ‘Physical Take’ section, enter the ‘Input’ and ‘Output’ that you want to switch.
For example, if currently input 1 switches to output 3, and you want input 1 to switch to output
6, enter 6 in the ‘Output’ field.
7 Click
Execute
. A ‘take’ is performed and the new switching configuration set.
8 (Optionally) create a switching configuration “salvo.” For more information, see
9 Repeat steps 2–7 for each control card being updated.
Mono Signals
The ‘X-Y/Mono’ tab only displays for the NV5100, NV5128, NV7256, NV7256-Plus, and
NV7512 routers. If no mono partitions have been set up, this tab is inactive. (See
