17. Working With Salvos
UniConfig can take a “snapshot”, called a salvo, of the current switching configuration (the cross-
point array), which can be saved as a separate file. Should a system failure occur, the salvo can be
uploaded, instantly re-resetting crosspoint connections. The salvo is used by UniConfig to reset the
switching configuration, which in turn updates the control cards, which are read by the router con-
trol system.
In addition to creating a salvo encompassing the entire switching configuration, you can select spe-
cific takes to save or modify individual takes.
Creating a Salvo
Salvos can be created at any time and saved for later uploading. Salvos can contain all switching
configurations or just selected takes. See
