6.9 820 IC Separation Center
6.9.1 820 IC Separation Center features
The Metrohm 820 IC Separation Center is a thermally and elec-
tronically isolated wet part which accommodates injectors, col-
umns, detectors, suppressor module, column heater and pulsa-
tion dampener. It is controlled by and connected to the 819 IC
Detector or the 830 IC Interface. The following versions are avail-
able:
• 2.820.0210 IC Separation Center with 1 injector and column
heater, metal-free
• 2.820.0220 IC Separation Center with 2 injectors and col-
umn heater, metal-free
• 2.820.0330 IC Separation Center with 1 injector, 1 suppres-
sor module and column heater, metal-free
• 2.820.0310 IC Separation Center with 1 injector, metal-free
• 2.820.0320 IC Separation Center with 2 injectors, metal-free
• 2.820.0330 IC Separation Center with 1 injector and 1 sup-
pressor module, metal-free
The 820 IC Separation Center is completely remote controlled
and can be operated using the «IC Net» program.
Pay attention when adding the Separation Center to the system!
The kind of Separation Center you have to choose from the de-
vice list depends on the wiring of the instruments in your sys-
tem.
Choose the 820.02X0 to IC Detector or 820.03X0 to IC Detector
from the device list, if the Separation Center is connected to
the 819 IC Detector. The type of Separation Center is recog-
nized automatically.
Choose the appropriate 820.0XX0 to Interface from the device
list, if the Separation Center is connected to the 830 IC Inter-
face.
The 820 IC Separation Center with one injection valve is nor-
mally connected to the 819 IC Detector using the 6.2125.090
cable. For the operation of a 820 IC Separation Center with two
injection valves, two configurations are possible. To operate it
with one 819 IC Detector, the 820 IC Separation Center is con-
nected with one 6.2125.090 cable, both valves are recognized. To
operate the 820 IC Separation Center in a two-channel System
with two 819 IC Detectors, it have to be connected to each De-
tector with a 6.2125.090 cable, two
