ip rip authentication mode

Description
Specifies the type of authentication mode used in RIP
Version 2 packets. Use the no form of this command to
restore the default value of none.

The following example specifies md5 the type of
authentication mode to use for interface labeled “boston”.

Name Definition
simple|md5|none The authentication type used in RIP Version 2 packets.
Types include:
• simple - clear text authentication.
• md5 - keyed MD5 authentication.
• none - No authentication.
