In the Modulated mode the instrument operates in a
continuous mode that does not require a trigger. It
continuously measures the true average power, peak power,
minimum power and peak to average ratio of the input signal.
The trace is displayed with a wide range of time bases and
provides a roll mode for slow timebases. The continuous
averaging process results in somewhat lower noise than the
Pulse mode, increasing the dynamic range.
In the Statistical mode the instrument continuously samples
the input signal and processes all of the samples to build
power histograms. There is no need for a trigger signal. The
histograms are processed and displayed as cumulative
distribution functions or as a discrete density function. See
Chapter 6, Applications for more information on statistical
power measurements.

Auto-Setup
Pulse
Initiates the auto-setup process.
(Action)
START
Auto-setup will adjust the vertical scale, vertical offset, trigger
level, timebase and trigger holdoff for channel 1 and 2. The
instrument uses the currently selected trigger source to search
for the trigger event. The setup will display the full amplitude
of the pulse with at least one full cycle.
