Receiving Software Into the Archive
The act of receiving software packages into the archive involves copying the software packages
from their tape or disk subvolumes into the archive on the host system. These software packages
can then be used to update the software configuration of your system.
A planner performs these steps to receive the product files into the software archive on the host
system. Repeat these steps for all the software packages being received. Packages received remain
in the archive until they are explicitly deleted or backed up; see
(Package) through ZPHIHMI” (page 160)
and
“Deleting a Software Input (Package) through ZPHIHMI”
.
To receive software into the archive:
1.
Launch the NonStop Software Essentials interface, as described in

Make any desired changes to the fields in all three tabs before clicking the Submit button
located beneath the tabs. Default values will be used for any fields not specified by the user,
so it is possible to proceed to step 4 and click Submit without making any changes. In that
case, you would initiate a receive software operation from the default tape drive using all
default settings.

The Main tab is used to assign and gather initial information about the request.
