After you rename a host system, you must initialize any targets that host manages to update them
for the new host name before performing any NonStop Software Essentials tasks.

Checking the Site ID
HP assigns the site ID.
To identify the site ID for this system:
> fup copy $volume.SYSnn.rlseid
volume
is the name of the volume.
SYSnn
is the SYSnn subvolume.
For example:
> fup copy $system.sys00.rlseid
Q08 020097 D48.00
The site ID in this example is 020097.
Task 1: Changing Default Settings Using INITENV
Use this procedure for both host systems and target systems. You can use the change option to:
•
Inform DSM/SCM of a change to the system name or number. For more information, refer to
“Changing the System Name and Number” (page 50)
. Then use INITENV change option to
configure DSM/SCM to recognize the new name and number. After you rename a host system,
you must reinitialize all the targets it manages to update them with the new host name before
performing any DSM/SCM tasks on them.
•
Change a host system to a target system.
•
Change the host system for a target system.
•
Change the DSM/SCM user ID.
•
Change the DSM/SCM hometerm.
•
Change the DSM/SCM server priority.
To change the default settings:
1.
If the system name or number is to be changed, do that first. See

2.
Log on to your system as the super ID (255,255) or as the DSM/SCM user ID.
> logon 255.255
password:
3.
Make ZDSMSCM the current subvolume:
> VOLUME $volume.ZDSMSCM

Check that TMF is running:
