All target information that you update in the host database must also be updated in the target
database. See
“Task 3: Configure the Target Database” (page 53)
Task 3: Configure the Target Database
Both host systems and target systems contain a target database. Use ZPHITMI to check the defaults
for the target database information and update it as necessary:
1.
Configure the target system profile. For more information, see
Information through NonStop Software Essentials” (page 148)
or
System Profile Information through ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI” (page 148)
.
2.
Designate scratch volumes for this target system. For more information, see
.
3.
Set security for database administrators and operators of this target system. See
Security for Host or Target Database Administrators (ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI)” (page 59)
and
“Setting Security for Operators” (page 59)
.
Task 4: Initialize the Logical Target
In NonStop Software Essentials, use the Initialize Target action, located under
Setting User Security
The security settings for planners, database administrators, and operators specify what tasks they
can perform. The database administrator usually sets and maintains security for all users in the
NonStop software management environment, including:
•
Check the current security information for a user
•
Adding users and setting their security access
•
Changing security information for a user
•
Listing all users
•
Deleting a user
Setting the DSM/SCM User ID
The default NonStop software management user ID is the super ID (255,255). This user ID is the
initial database administrator, responsible for specifying which users are allowed to use NonStop
Software Essentials and DSM/SCM and what tasks they are permitted to perform.
•
The user ID must have remote passwords to target systems to which it is Expand connected.
•
To Build/Apply a Full Activation Package, or “First Real Apply Build, Initial Build Apply Bypass”
(
“Performing an Initialization Build/Apply” (page 134)
), the user ID must be the super ID
(255,255). Otherwise, you might not be able to start DSM/SCM after the system load.
To change the default user ID, use INITENV with the change option.
