Exiting INITENV
INITENV automatically stops itself after its processing is complete. INITENV does not perform any
actions until you finish its dialog. Therefore, to leave your system unchanged, press Ctrl-Y to
leave INITENV at any time during the INITENV dialog.
Navigating INITENV
INITENV is a command-line interface that prompts you with a series of configuration questions.
The questions vary depending on your responses. Your responses supply INITENV with the
information it needs to perform its configuration tasks. After you answer all questions, INITENV
updates DSM/SCM accordingly. INITENV displays its progress as it searches for and purges files.
CLEANOSS Tool
Use the CLEANOSS tool before your next Apply if INITENV informs you that it is required. If
DSM/SCM tries to manage an OSS hierarchy containing old DSM/SCM work files, your next
Apply fails. CLEANOSS removes these files.
SPRCHECK Tool
Use the SPRCHECK command line tool to confirm whether the recommended SPRs for your current
configuration are installed on the system. SPRCHECK checks the DSM/SCM history file (syshnnnn)
and compares it to a Support Note for your RVU. For detailed information, see
Recommended Software Product Revisions (SPRs)” (page 95)
CLONE Utility
Use the CLONE utility to automatically handle processing tasks for all the systems in a Clone Group.
For example, use CLONE to run ZPHIRNM to rename the product files on every target in the Clone
Group at once. For detailed information, see
“Renaming Product Files for a Clone Group” (page 177)
.
RMOLDDLL
RMOLDDLL lists all public data definition language (DDL) subvolumes on the system and the SYSnn
subvolumes, if any, that they are associated with. It can also remove all public DLL subvolumes
that are not associated with any SYSnn. The following is an example of the output from the
RMOLDDLL command:
255,255 1/13 2:29 \SCUBA $DSMSCM ZDSMSCM 6> rmolddll
