drive configured in the host configuration (configuration manager profile) is the tape drive
initially selected.
The optional External Tape ID field is a handwritten tape label used in EMS event messages
during processing of this request. The maximum length for this text field is 6 characters.
The “File” text input field should be in the form: \system.$volume.subvolume.filename. The
field is pre-populated with the system and volume names from the target profile’s output defaults
with a subvolume of “ZPHISNAP,” followed by “ZZSNNNNN,” as an example of what a
snapshot file name looks like.
If no system is specified, then the host system is assumed. The system name must begin with
“\” (if one is specified), and the volume name must begin with “$.” There must be a delimiter
(“.”) between the system name and volume name, between the volume and subvolume, and
between the subvolume and file name. The system, volume, subvolume, and file name must
each be eight characters or less, including the system name prefix (“\”) and the volume name
prefix (“$”). All characters must be alphanumeric, the first of which must be alphabetic.
