Specifying a PARAM from PATHCOM

In most cases, you can use the defaults. You can add PARAMs to the appropriate PATHWAY
server. Specifying a PARAM from PATHCOM is persistent until INITENV or PATHCOLD is run.
For example:

> PATHCOM $YPHI
= ALTER server,PARAM param-name param-value

server

is the appropriate PATHWAY server, IS-001, CB-001, TA-001, or OM-001. See

“$YPHI

Pathway Servers” (page 218)

PARAM Summary

AP^BACKUP "backup-program-file "

Pass this PARAM to the PATHWAY server CB-001. If a tool assign was not specified for the
BACKUP tool, DSM/SCM uses the BACKUP program specified in the PARAM to create the AP
on tape.

backup-program-file

is a fully qualified file name in the form $volume.subvolume.file.

DELETE-OBSOLETE-TSVS

deletes all obsolete target subvolumes. This PARAM deletes not only the SYSnn target subvolume
but all target subvolumes. Pass this PARAM to the PATHWAY server TA-001. See also
KEEP-OBSOLETE-SYSNN.
DSM/SCM keeps obsolete SYSnn subvolumes if the SYSnn subvolume for the new configuration
and the current configuration are the same, but the SYSnn ID for the previous configuration is
different.
For example: The current configuration is placed on SYS01. The new configuration contains
a few SPRs that don't require a system load so it is going to SYS01 also. The previous
configuration is placed on SYS00. DSM/SCM will not manage SYS00 after this apply, but
you can keep the old SYSnn as a backup SYSnn subvolume to perform system loads from. If
PC != CC != NC, DSM/SCM deletes the previous configuration SYSnn subvolume because
you can still fall back to the current configuration SYSnn subvolume.

DLL-BUILD-VERBOSE

passes the -VERBOSE option to PLINSTL when the public DLLs are built. Pass this PARAM to the
PATHWAY server CB-001.

DONT-ACTIVATE-LAST-LOGON { YES | NO }

affects the options passed to USER_AUTHENTICATE_ when for login to DSM/SCM. Pass this
PARAM to OM-001.
