NOTE:
HP SIM can only enable logging for classes that have been used since SIM was
installed. For example, if you have not run a Build/Apply from NonStop Software Essentials
since installing HP SIM, then it cannot enable tracing for code specific to Build/Apply. So,
you must use a feature at least once before you enable logging.
a.
Select the “Debug Levels (server)” option from the Debug menu.
b.
Set options (and only those options) as shown below:
c.
There will be a delay during which the browser seems unresponsive. Wait for the panel
to redraw; there is no need to restart HP SIM or NonStop Software Essentials. The trace
file will be saved to::
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\logs\mxdomainmgr.0.log
Regarding the trace files:
•
They are quite large (often many megabytes).
•
They are written in real-time, so they can be viewed and periodically reloaded while
performing operations.
•
Older trace files will be rotated to mxdomainmgr.1.log, .2.log, etc., up to .15.log.
After that trace files numbers will roll over, so a maximum of 16 log files can exist.
To disable NonStop Software Essentials client logging, change the trace level for “nse” back to 0
and click Apply Changes.
