Exporting Files from the Archive

The Export Files feature provides the ability to copy and convert files stored in the DSM/SCM
internal archive format to standard system files. Exported files are decompressed, renamed to a
standard name, and converted to a format that can be used on a NonStop system.

Depending on where you launch the export files action from, you can export all product files from
one or more products, selected product files from a single product, or all developer files (which
may include SPI definitions, EMS template source files, or privileged declarations) from one or
more products.

When you select files from a

Files View

, you can

“Export Product Files Only” (page 162)

When you select a software package, you can

“Export Developer Files Only” (page 163)

When you select products from a software package or revision, you can

or Development Files” (page 161)

Export Product Files or Development Files

product files or developer files. You specify the destination volume for the export operation and
can set the Guardian file permissions and ownership.
