Description
Parameter
Name including \ backslash for this system.
Host or physical target system name
A unique 6-digit number that identifies this system. If you do not know the system
site ID, see
“Checking the Site ID” (page 51)
System Site ID
One of these processor types:
CPU Type
•
TNSE for Intel Itanium processors
•
TNSR for RISC processors
•
TNS for CISC processors
Use this option to write the activation package and snapshot to disk. You must
select this option for a logical target on a host system. You can select this option
Use network connection
for a target system if it has an Expand connection available for DSM/SCM to
use. If you do not select this option, the activation package and snapshot are
written to tape.
Use this option to require that Safeguard must be running whenever DSM/SCM
places files. This option is usually not checked.

Updating Host or Target System Profile Information through ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI
1.
Log on to the ZPHITMI or ZPHIHMI using the DSM/SCM user ID (see
). DSM/SCM displays the ZPHITMI or ZPHIHMI main menu.

Select 1 (System Maintenance); then press F1. DSM/SCM displays the System Maintenance
screen.
3.
From the System Maintenance screen, enter the name of the system (including the backslash);
then press F2. DSM/SCM displays the profile information for the system.

To update the default values, review the system profile information and change as needed.

To delete a system from DSM/SCM, press F6.
•
To view the profile for the next system in the list, press F3.
4.
For host systems, press Shift-F4 to list all the target systems managed by DSM/SCM. Use PgUp
and PgDn to page through the list.
5.
Press Shift-F2 to enter any changes.
6.
Press F16 to return to the main menu.
7.
Upon changing system profile information:
•
On a host system, using ZPHIHMI, send the updated information to the target system in
an activation package to synchronize the target database.
•
On a target system, using ZPHITMI, generate an independent snapshot containing the
new profile information and transfer the snapshot, either manually or automatically, to
the host system to update the host database.
Updating System Profile Information through NonStop Software Essentials
You can add, modify, or delete system profile information through the Target Maintenance actions
on the Configuration Revisions page. When you perform an add, modify, or delete action, the
system profile information appears on the main tab of the dialog box for those actions, under the
Physical Target heading. For more information, see
“Target Maintenance Actions” (page 64)
