To use the ZPHITI:

1.

Start the ZPHITI. DSM/SCM displays the Logon screen.

2.

Log on to the ZPHITI. DSM/SCM displays the main menu.

3.

From the main menu, select a task and then press F1. DSM/SCM displays the requested
screen.

4.

Perform your target tasks using the data fields in the interface.

Exiting the ZPHITI

To end a ZPHITI session and leave DSM/SCM, press Shift-F16 from any ZPHITI screen.

If you have no further DSM/SCM activities to perform, you can stop DSM/SCM. See

“Stopping

DSM/SCM” (page 39)

Other Tools for NonStop Software Management

In addition to the NonStop Software Essentials and DSM/SCM interfaces, you use these tools
during certain NonStop software management procedures.

ZPHIRNM Tool

Before you can use new software after you apply a new configuration to a target system, you must
run ZPHIRNM to activate the software. When you apply software to a target system, DSM/SCM
places Guardian files in their destination target subvolumes (TSVs) with temporary file names; that
is, file names that are not the actual (distribution) product file names used on the target system.
The temporary file names of the new files do not conflict with the file names of currently running
programs that they might replace. ZPHIRNM renames the currently running files to fabricated names
and renames the new files to their real names. ZPHIRNM is a command-line tool that runs outside
the DSM/SCM Pathway environment. For detailed information on using ZPHIRNM, see

Chapter 10:

“Renaming Product Files Using ZPHIRNM”
