To revert the databases for use by pre-D46 DSM/SCM PVUs, use the FALLBACK macro:

1.

Find the FALLBACK macro.

The macro was first released with T6031D46 in the ZDSMSCM subvolume. If you have already
reverted to a pre-D46 DSM/SCM PVU, it is likely not in the ZDSMSCM subvolume. You can
retrieve the macro from the T6031D46 DSV in any G06.18 or later RVU. If such an RVU is
in the DSM/SCM archive, you can export it directly from the archive.

2.

Check that DSM/SCM is stopped.

3.

Run the FALLBACK macro immediately after you back out to a pre-D46 PVU but before you
run STARTSCM.

You need to run the macro separately for the host and target systems, but only for whichever
systems have been backed out. For example, if your target system is still running the D46 PVU,
do not run the macro on the target system.

The FALLBACK macro must be run from the ZDSMSCM subvolume by the DSM/SCM user ID
or the super ID (255,255) only.

4.

Address any errors returned by the FALLBACK macro.

5.

If there are no errors, when FALLBACK prompts you to continue, enter Yes.

The FALLBACK macro begins processing. Though the macro does not remove OSS files, it
removes all OSS management information from the DSM/SCM databases. Therefore, you
must always use the COPYOSS procedures to install OSS software until you reenable
DSM/SCM to manage OSS files.

6.

After the FALLBACK macro indicates it is running IPM6031, which is its final step, you can
run STARTSCM.

To later manage OSS files again, you must migrate to the DSM/SCM D46 or later PVU and receive
the software into the archive again to properly process the DSM/SCM-enabled OSS software.
