The work panel contains a list of items in the profile, most of which can be changed:

Description
Parameter
This is a read-only field, showing the name of the host system.
Host system name
Used to specify the default tape drive. Enter a tape drive name or choose from
among the list of tape drives displayed under the drop-down menu.
Tape drive name
Used to specify the number of days that completed or canceled requests are kept
in the database. This default value is set to 5 days after DSM/SCM is initialized.
The acceptable range of values is 1-9999.
Days to retain requests
Used to specify the default output location for files exported from the archive. Enter
a volume name (with optional system prefix) or choose from among the list of volume

names on the host system displayed under the drop-down menu. This field only
allows volumes, not subvolumes or file names.
Used to specify the default file output location for reports and softdocs.
Report file location
Used to specify the default spooler output location to which printed reports and
softdocs are sent.
Report output spooler location
Used to specify whether or not to compress software that is received into the archive.

Target System Profile
Whether you maintain system profiles from the host or target systems depends on whether your
site practices centralized or local system management. You can update system profile information
through the following interfaces:
