Navigating the NonStop Software Essentials Interface
The NonStop Software Essentials interface, pictured in
, consists of:
•
The banner – displays name of the NonStop server (\SCUBA, in the example below) followed
by “(Host)” to indicate that the server is a host system. The banner also provides:
—
A Home link to return to the work panel to its default or home view.
—
The User name for the current NonStop Software Essentials session.
—
The Roles assigned to the current User on the system.
—
A Sign Out link, to end the current NonStop Software Essentials session.
•
The host tree pane – located in the far left column, it displays an expandable tree from which
you can see the Software in Archive and Configuration Revisions stored on the host system
that the session is logged on to. You can expand Software in Archive to see the different view
options (All Software Packages, Base SPRs, etc.) and you can expand those view options to
see all the available software products under each view option. Similarly, you can expand
Configuration Revisions to see all logical targets and expand the targets to see a list of all
software revisions for those targets.
Clicking on any link in the host tree causes the page for that software package view, product,
target, or revision to be displayed in the work panel of the NonStop Software Essentials
window.
•
The work panel – the default or home view of the work panel (pictured below), displayed
when you first log on to NonStop Software Essentials, contains links to the various tasks that
can be performed in NonStop Software Essentials. The work panel changes to display tasks
or views selected from menu options or from links in the work panel or the host tree pane.
You return to the default or home view of the work panel by clicking the Home link on the
NonStop Software Essentials banner.
•
The menu bar – the menu options provide, among other things, an alternate method for
accessing the tasks that are listed on the default or home view of the work panel. The Options
menu also allows you to specify whether or not to show Product groups in the various views
in which products are displayed. The Help menu provides access to NonStop Software
Essentials online help.
