Setting Security for Host or Target Database Administrators (ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI)

1.

From the ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI, select 3 (Security Maintenance); then press F1. DSM/SCM
displays the Security Maintenance menu.

2.

From the Security Maintenance menu, select 2 (Database Administrator Security Maintenance);
then press F1. DSM/SCM displays the Database Administrator Security Maintenance screen.

3.

From the Database Administrator Security Maintenance screen, press Shift-F4. DSM/SCM
displays a list of all DSM/SCM target database administrators. To page through the list, use
the PgUp and PgDn keys. To return to the Database Administrator Security Maintenance
screen, press F16.

To check the security information for a database administrator, enter the database
administrator’s user ID or alias; then press F2. To check information about the next
database administrator in the list, press F3.

To add or change security permissions for a database administrator:
a.

Enter the database administrator’s user ID or alias and press F2 to check the user’s
permissions.

b.

To grant a permission, enter Y in its data field. To deny a permission, enter N in its
data field.

DSM/SCM is usually configured by the initial database administrator. By default,
each database administrator has full permission to access the ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI.
To apply restrictions, set the appropriate flags on the Database Administrator Security
screen.

c.

When all permissions are set, press Shift-F2 if you are updating an existing operator
or F7 if you are adding a database administrator.

If more than one page of database administrators exists, make any changes before
pressing F3 to check additional administrators.

4.

After you add all database administrators, press Shift-F16 to return to the main menu.

5.

Press Shift-F16 to exit the ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI.

Setting Security for Operators

The operator initiates tasks on a target system, usually as directed by the planner. For information
about the tasks operators can perform, see

“Operator Tasks” (page 48)

. You can establish operators

without any permissions, giving them read-only access to a subset of NonStop Software Essentials
and DSM/SCM functions. They can view items such as software configurations and packages (or
“inputs”), but cannot make changes.

Use the ZPHITMI to establish and maintain system security for target system operators. Security
information for operators is stored in the target system database.

Adding, Modifying, or Deleting an Operator (ZPHITMI)

1.

From the ZPHITMI, select 3 (Security Maintenance menu); then press F1. DSM/SCM displays
the Security Maintenance menu.

2.

From the Security Maintenance menu, select 1 (Operator Security Maintenance); then press
F1. DSM/SCM displays the Operator Security Maintenance screen.

3.

From the Operator Security Maintenance screen, press Shift-F4. DSM/SCM displays a list of
all operators for this target system.

You can page through the list by using the PgUp and PgDn keys. Press F16 to return to the
Operator Security Maintenance screen.
