1.
On the ZPHIHMI main menu, enter 9 (Archive Maintenance); then press F1. DSM/SCM
displays the Archive Maintenance screen.
2.
Enter the software package name or configuration revision name; then press F5.
3.
In case an error “DSM/SCM could not find needed information in database” occurs, rename
the software package from NonStop Software Essentials. To rename follow these steps:
a.
In the Software in Archive window, select the Software to be renamed.
b.
Select File > Show Software Input Description.
The Software Description window appears.
c.
Under Software Name, enter the new name for the software and click OK.
d.
Go to Step 1.
Backing Up a Software Input (Package) through ZPHIHMI
Backing up software packages (called “inputs” in ZPHIHMI) removes it from the archive and marks
it in the database as backed up:
1.
Check that no other DSM/SCM activities are running on the system.
2.
On the ZPHIHMI main menu, enter 9 (Archive Maintenance); then press F1. DSM/SCM
displays the Archive Maintenance screen.
3.
Enter the software input (package) name.
4.
Enter the name of the tape drive to be used for the backup; then press F8.
Deleting a Software Package through NonStop Software Essentials
You can delete one or more software packages from the archive by selecting them in any of the
and clicking Delete.
Deleting a software package removes it from the archive, and removes its entry from the database.
However, you cannot delete a package that is referenced by any configuration revision.
To delete a backed-up package without first restoring it:
1.
Delete any configuration revisions that reference the package:
•
To delete an individual revision, see
“Deleting Old Software Revisions” (page 108)
•
To delete an entire software configuration, removing all its revisions, see
Software Configuration through ZPHIHMI” (page 161)

2.
Check that no other DSM/SCM activities are running on the system.
3.
On the ZPHIHMI main menu, enter 9 (Archive Maintenance); then press F1. DSM/SCM
displays the Archive Maintenance screen.
4.
Enter the name of the software package.
5.
Press F6.
