8.4.2
Requesting labware definitions
Eppendorf creates definitions for labware that you would like to use in the epMotion. You can record these
definitions in the epBlue labware library.
1. Check to see if the definition for your labware is in the epBlue labware library.
2. Check to see if the definition for your labware is in the labware library on the www.eppendorf.com/
automation webpage.
3. If the definition is not available for your labware, send a request to Eppendorf AG.
If Eppendorf AG has a definition for your labware, you will receive the data from Eppendorf AG via
e-mail.
If Eppendorf AG does not have a definition of your labware, you will receive a form with questions on
your labware.

Adding a labware definition to the labware library
Import the labware (see Import labware on p. 93).

Labware types in epBlue
8.5.1
Reaction vessels
Labware types in epBlue:
Racks with Tubes > Tubes

Reaction vessels are not available in epBlue as independent labware.
8.5.2
epT.I.P.S. Motion
Labware types in epBlue:

Pipette tips with filters have a "f" added to their name in epBlue.
Racks and Safe Racks have the same labware definition.
8.5.3
MTP plates
Labware types in epBlue:
Plates > MTP
.
Measuring the filling level is not available for MTPplates with 384 wells.
For MTP plates with 96
wells, measuring the filling level takes a long time.
