Monitor Does Not
Start

1. The power leads for the power cable are connected to the wrong

terminals.

Solution: Refer to the installation instructions and check the power cable

where it connects to power. Make sure that the wire with the yellow
inline fuse is connected to the positive battery terminal and that the other
wire is connected to the negative battery terminal (if you are not
connecting to a battery, use a volt meter to determine which terminal is
positive and ground).

2. The monitor or power cable has a blown fuse.

Solution: Check the fuse in the monitor and power cable (yellow inline
rubber fuse holder). Replace the fuse if it is blown.

3. The cable connections are bad.

Solution: Disconnect the cab, distribution, and power cables and
examine the pins for corrosion. Examine the cables for cuts or pinched
wires. Reconnect the cable and turn the monitor on. Refer to the
Reference section for the pinouts of each cable if you want to check the
cables for continuity and shorts with a resistance meter.

Disconnect the yield monitor cables from the distribution cable, one at a
time, leaving the power cable connected. After disconnecting each cable,
look at the monitor to determine whether it has turned on.

4. The wires that connect to the power switch inside the box are loose.

Solution: Remove the top nine screws that secure the front panel, then
open the panel. Inside the monitor console, with the power switch on,
examine and wiggle the wires soldered to the power switch and the reset
switch to determine whether the monitor turns on. Follow those wires to
their connection on the circuit board (brown connector) and ensure that
the connector is fully mated to the circuit board.

If, when you wiggle the wires, the monitor turns on and then off again,
the wire is improperly soldered to the power switch. Call Ag Leader
Technology
and send the monitor in for repair.
