Radar Power Adapters are available for Case-IH Magnum and Magnavox
(Deere) Radar and Micro-Trak Sonar units.
A radar power adapter is not required for Dickey-john radar units because
they plug directly into the distribution cable. The radar extension cable can
be used to extend the length of the Dickey-john radar cable (but is probably
not required in most cases).
Implement Switch The implement switch is an enclosed switch with a spring wire that protrudes
about four inches from one end. When the spring wire is moved off-center,
the switch actuates, and the yield monitor stops counting area, just as it does
when you raise the head on the combine. You must mount the switch so that
a rocker arm or other mechanism on the implement moves the spring wire
off-center when the implement is raised.
You can also buy a similar implement switch from John Deere dealers using
Deere part number RE21117.
Shaft Speed Sensor If you want to monitor planting rate, but do not use a Rawson Accu-Plant
drive, you can buy a shaft speed sensor, which can be mounted to count
sprocket teeth that pass by the end of the sensor. You also will need the cab
and distribution cables, a tractor battery power cable, and a connection to a
radar or sonar unit. An implement switch is optional.
Extension Cables You must buy the following extension cables if Ag Leader Technology does
not offer a controller tee adapter for your model sprayer controller:
Radar Extension Cable 10- and 25-ft cables are available to connect radar
tee and power adapters to the distribution cable. Dickey-john radar guns are
shipped with a long cable that connects directly to the tractor distribution
cable, so you do not need to buy this extension cable unless you need the
extra length to add to the Dickey-john cable.
Flow Meter/Speed Sensor Extension Cables. 10- and 25-ft cables are
available to connect a flow meter tee adapter, flow meter power adapter, or
a shaft speed sensor to the distribution cable.
Implement Switch Extension Cable. 10 - and 25-ft cables are available to
connect the implement switch to the distribution cable.
