Press the Calibration Assistance button below the cal weight value. The Cal Weight Calibration screen
will display.
Note:
The application type must be set for Gran 4 in order to use the cal weight calibration assistance
feature. See the Application and Control Valve Type(s) section on page 32 for more information on
selecting the application type.

Verify that the weight box is in place and that no product will be spilled on the ground.
Note:
Make sure the metering roller is full of product before touching Begin Calibration. If the roller is
not full, the test results will be inaccurate. Perform the Priming the Metering Rollers section on
page 35 to ensure the rollers are properly primed.

Touch the Begin Calibration button.

Toggle the product 1 switch to manual.
8.
Toggle the master switch on.
9.
Dispense product until a sufficient weight of product is in the weight box or the weight box is full.
10.
Toggle the master switch off.
11.
Touch the End Calibration button.
12.
Weigh the product dispensed (minus the weight box) and enter the weight in the cal weight calibration
assistant.
13.
Touch the Calculate button. Viper Pro will calculate the cal weight value and enter the value on the Node
Settings screen.
14.
Toggle the product 1 switch off. To perform a catch test for additional product nodes or control channels,
toggle the appropriate product switch to manual and repeat the above process as necessary.
15.
Touch OK to save the entered value or proceed to the optional Valve Cal(s) section if applicable to continue
with the initial set up process.
Valve Cal(s)
Note:
The Viper Pro automatically enters the recommended valve cal value for the valve type selected
during the procedure in the Application and Control Valve Type(s) section on page 32.

Touch within the Product Control area at the bottom of the main screen.
2.
Make sure that Node 1 is selected on the CAN Controller Status screen and touch within the second data
display area, or the Product Control Settings area, on the CAN Controller Status screen.
3.
Touch the Next button to view additional settings for the selected product node or control channel.
WARNING
The metering rollers will begin turning during
the calibration procedure. Keep away from
moving components and alert anyone around
the air cart when performing the calibration
process.
