Section Control Apply/No-Apply Mapping
Automatic section control may be set up to operate based on a variety of different map features that define
apply and no-apply zones. The Section Control Setup screen allows the operator to select the desired method
of operation for the SCT system.
The following methods are available for setting up or creating an SCT apply/no-apply map:
•
Standard Section Control
•
Create Section Control No-Apply Map
•
Load Section Control No-Apply Map
•
Create Map from Field Boundary
Standard Section Control Method
The standard method uses the Viper Pro coverage or as-applied map to determine section control. The Seed
Hawk SCT system will automatically turn off sections if they enter into a previously applied area. An Rx map
may be used to further control SCT operation in this mode. If the standard SCT mode is selected, no additional
setup is required.
Create Section Control No-Apply Map Method
This method allows the operator to define apply and no-apply zones during the job. The apply/no-apply zones
may be created using the scouting features of the Viper Pro field computer. If this method is selected, the Viper
Pro prompts the operator to name the zone map that will be created.
Select the Create No-Apply Boundary option to create a no-apply area of three implement widths around the
completed field boundary. The SCT system will function the same as in standard mode until all apply/no-apply
areas have been defined and the section control map is created. Creating apply/no-apply maps will be
explained later in this section.
