Locate the black and gray 12-pin connectors on the 8-section control cable and connect the single product
control node (P/N 063-0172-373) (gray connector to gray connector and black connector to black
connector).

Note:

A second liquid control node may be connected to the “NH3 Valves” connector using the same
process as previously described.

To add an anhydrous control channel to the Seed Hawk CANbus system:

1.

Locate the drill control node (P/N 063-0173-022) mounted near the tongue of the drill.

2.

Locate the round, 16-pin connector labeled “NH3 Valves” in the area near the drill control node.

3.

Remove the protective cap from the connector.

4.

Insert the 16-pin connector on the 8 section control cable (P/N 115-3001-013) provided with the option kit
and tighten the lock ring to secure.

5.

Locate the 8-pin Deutsch connectors labeled “Liquid/NH3 Control Nodes” and remove the protective cap
from one of the connectors.

6.

Insert the 8-pin Deutsch connector on the 8 section control cable provided with the option kit. Connectors
should click together when secure.

7.

Locate the black and gray 12-pin connectors on the 8-section control cable and connect the single product
control node (P/N 063-0172-373) (gray connector to gray connector and black connector to black
connector).

Note:

The Seed Hawk system will only support one anhydrous ammonia control channel.

Start Up

Note:

Before connecting or using any additional or optional components with the Viper Pro precision
application management system, be sure to follow any installation instructions and verify proper
installation.

Before powering up the Viper Pro, check that the field computer is properly mounted and all power
and cable connections have been installed properly as instructed in the previous sections.

Once installation of the Viper Pro precision application management system has been completed and verified,
the field computer may be powered up.
