Seed Hawk® Viper Pro™ Installation & Operation Manual
Sectional Control Technology (SCT) Systems
Seed Hawk Sectional Control Technology and the Viper Pro come together to maximize crop input efficiency
by applying multiple products in a single pass while reducing input costs. The SCT and Viper Pro system
provides automatic section control of up to five products, minimizing seed and chemical input overlaps and
automatic section control of soil openers to reduce soil disturbance to keep moisture in the ground and reduce
the effects of erosion. The Seed Hawk Viper Pro with Sectional Control Technology controls all of this so that
the operator can focus on driving and keeping swaths straight, reducing skips and overlaps as well as reducing
operator fatigue even while operating the largest drill widths.
Note:
With the Seed Hawk system, the first three products are locked to the air cart product bins. Up to
two SCT Control Nodes are required for three bin full SCT system operation. Contact a local Seed
Hawk dealer for more information on components required for specific air carts and/or drills.
Base Setup
This section contains instructions for setting up the Seed Hawk Viper Pro and Base system. For instructions on
the setup of an SCT system, see the Sectional Control Technology™ (SCT) section on page 171.
If the drill sections have not already been configured in Base mode, be sure to follow the Section Setup Wizard
section on page 164 to configure the tractor and drill sections. The drill must be configured to 1, 2, or 5
sections.
In a Base system, the first section must always set to the full drill width and is assigned to products 1 through 3
applied from the air cart. The section 1 switch on the Seed Hawk switch box toggles all of the air cart bins
simultaneously for the entire drill width.
Note:
The Base system is not capable of sectional control of the seed sections or individual products
applied from air cart bins.
Any additional sections configured on the Drill and Section Width Setup screens are assigned to optional liquid
products (products 4 and 5). The Base system controls these liquid products as a single product but is capable
of controlling one or four sections of liquid application across the drill width.
