Inspection Tools
Inspection tools are commonly used in vision appli-
cations to inspect objects and parts, typically found by
a Locator tool. Inspection tools rely on the analysis of
pixel information.
Blob Analyzer
Identifies blobs, and returns various
results for each blob.
Caliper
Identifies one or more edge pairs and
measures distances between the two
edges within each pair.
Arc Caliper
Identifies one or more edge pairs on
an arc-shaped or circular area and
measures distances between the two
edges within each pair.
Edge Locator
Identifies an edge or a set of edges
that meet user-defined criteria.
Arc Edge Loca-
tor
Identifies an edge or a set of edges in
an arc-shaped or circular area.
Pattern Locator
Identifies instances of a greyscale pat-
tern.
Filter Tools
Filter tools specify criteria for limiting
which instances will be processed.
These criteria include physical appear-
ance (including color) and proximity of
the instances to each other.
Inspection Tool
Analyzes the results of other tools
based on a configuration of inspection
filters.
Color Matching
Filters and analyzes areas of specified
color, or color ranges in color images.

Analyzes results of histograms to
determine which parts can safely be
picked.
