Connecting Batteries
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Open the right cab-forward platform to expose the
batteries. Refer to
5.5.1 Opening Platforms (Standard
.
3. The battery main disconnect switch (A) is located on
the right-hand frame rail beside the batteries. Ensure
battery switch (A) is switched to POWER OFF position.
4. Remove cable ties securing battery cables to
battery clamp.
IMPORTANT:
BATTERY IS NEGATIVE GROUNDED. Always
connect red starter cable to the positive (+)
terminal of battery and black ground cable to
negative (-) terminal of battery. Reversed polarity
in battery or alternator may result in permanent
damage to electrical system.

5. Remove plastic caps from battery posts.
6. Attach positive (red) cable terminals to positive post (A)
on batteries and tighten. Reposition plastic covers
onto clamps.
7. Attach negative (black) cable terminals to negative
post (B) on batteries and tighten clamps.
8. Turn battery switch to POWER ON position.
9. Close the platform, refer to

Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could engage an idling machine.
NOTE: Header should be attached and raised to maintain proper windrower stance.
