2. Add lubricant as follows:

a. Remove breather cap (A) and add lubricant until it

runs out at the check plug.

b. Replace check plug and breather cap and tighten.

c. Operate the engine at low idle and check for leaks

at the check plug and drain plug.

Changing Lubricant

Change gearbox lubricant after the first 50 hours, and then at 500 hours as follows:

NOTE: The engine should be warm prior to changing the oil.

1. Stop engine and remove key.

2. Place a 1 US gallon (4 liters) drain pan under

the gearbox.

3. Remove drain plug (B) and allow oil to completely

finish draining.

4. Install drain plug (B) and remove check plug (A).

5. Add lubricant. Refer to

Checking Lubricant Level and

Adding Lubricant, page 321

.

6. Operate the engine at low idle and check for leaks at

the check plug and drain plug.

CAUTION

To avoid burns, do NOT touch muffler when engine is running.

Allow sufficient cooling time after

shut-down.
