2.11 Outdoor installation
Series SK 2xxE frequency inverters and technology units can be installed outdoors under the following
conditions:

IP66 version (See Special Measures, Section .1.7)

UV-resistant blank screw caps and inspection windows.
The UV-resistant blank screw caps and inspection windows are part of the ATEX Kit for the SK 2xxE. I.e. for
the use of the ATEX option for IP66 ( Section 2.10) all conditions for the outdoor installation of the frequency
inverter are complied with.
It is recommended that the frequency inverter is provided with a sun shield.
NOTE The membrane valve (bag enclosed with the IP66 version of the frequency
inverter connection unit) enables the compensation of pressure differences
between the inside of the frequency inverter and its environment and also
prevents the entry of moisture. When fitting into an M12 screw connection of the
connection unit of the frequency inverter, care must be taken that the
membrane valve does not come into contact with standing moisture.
NOTE
If older versions of the devices are to be installed outdoors, replacement of the
housing cover with a UV-resistant version may be necessary.
