Setting the profile parameter jerk time for S−shaped ramps
The setting of the jerk time under C3600/x serves to change over between L profile and S
profile for generating the travel profile.
ƒ
Jerk time = 0, L profile is active (Lenze setting):
The positioning profile is generated with linear ramps. All positioning profile modes
(C3095/x) can be used.
ƒ
Jerk time
¹ 0, S profile is active:
The positioning profile is generated with S−shaped ramps. This ramp form cannot be
used with the touch probe positioning profile modes C3095/x = 10 ... 23 and neither
with positioning profiles with the activated additional function "Immediate profile
change" (C3096/x.Bit5 = 1).
The jerk time set under C3600/x is a measure for smoothening the speed curve with
S−ramps. The jerk time corresponds to the ramp time (t
jerk
), after which the acceleration set
in the positioning profile is reached, starting from acceleration 0.
The smoothening of the speed curve with S−ramps serves to limit the jerk and thus for a
protection of the machine mechanics.
)
Note!
If disproportionately high jerk times (t
jerk
) are set for short acceleration phases
(t
acc
), the profile may be generated incorrectly.
Example:
v = 100 mm/s, a = 1000 mm/s
2
ð t
acc
= v / a = 0.1 s
ð t
jerk
= 0.05 s
For this reason, set only plausible jerk times for the S−ramps under C3600/x.
These must not exceed half the value of t
acc
.
