Feed constant (C1204)
The feed constant specifies the path (in units) the load (slide) covers in one revolution of
the spindle.
It is entered into code C1204:
C1204
ƪ
units
rev.
ƫ
+ Feed
ƪ
[mm, cm,
AAA]
[1 rev.]
ƫ
The physical size of a unit is defined in this way via C1204. For the example described above,
it follows that:
C1204
+ h + 20
ƪ
units
rev.
ƫ
1 unit
+ 1 mm
Between real units (Pos_real) and variables relating to the position encoder/motor
(Pos_intern in increments), there is the following interrelation:
Pos_intern [incr.]
+
Pos_real
@ 65536 @ GFD @ SFN
1000
@ Vconst. @ GFN @ SFD
GFD
Gearbox factor denominator
GFN
Gearbox factor numerator
SFD
Sensor factor denominator
SFN
Sensor factor numerator
Vconst.
Feed constant
Thus, the following applies to the conversion of position values in positioning profiles into
internal increments:
Pos_intern [incr.]
+ C3100 @ 65536 @ C1202 @ C1201
1000
@ C1204 @ C1203 @ C1200
Irrespective of the feedback system used, one revolution of the position encoder/motor
corresponds to 65536 increments.
Examples for the calculation of the feed constant
Feed constant for ball screw
Feed constant for toothed belt drive
l
Leadscrew pitch h = 10
l
A (path) unit corresponds to 1 mm.
ð C1204 = 10 units/rev.
l
Tooth number of the belt pulley: 40 teeth/rev.,
toothed belt division: 5 mm
l
A (path) unit corresponds to 1 mm.
ð C1204 = 40 x 5 units = 200 units/rev.
