Creating a Controller Node Cache Performance Report

The Controller Node Cache Performance report displays the access count and hit percent of read
and write hits, the number of locked blocks, page states related to disk type, and the number of
delay acknowledgments, dirty pages and max dirty pages by disk type. Charts can be generated
for values over a time interval or at a specified time. Each type of hit or page is shown in a different
color on the same chart. The X-axis (category) represents time, and the Y-axis (value) indicates a
percentage or a number, depending on the type of chart.

Y-Axis Units

Chart Type

Number of hits per second.

Access Count

Percentage of hits.

Hit Percent

Number of lines locked in the cache per second.

Locked Blocks

Number of pages in the specified state.

Page States

Number of delayed acknowledgment responses per second.

Delay Ack

Average number of dirty pages.

Dirty Pages

Maximum number of dirty pages.

Max Dirty Pages

A table below the charts displays the following statistics:

The date and time usage information was collected. (Shown only for values over time chart

Time

Number of reads that hit in the cache.

Read Hits/s

Number of writes for which the page is already in cache AND is dirty (has previously written
data that has not yet been flushed to disk).

Write Hits/s

Total number of reads per second.

Reads/s

Total number of writes per second.

Writes/s

Total number of (reads + writes) per second.

RWs/s

Percentage of reads (out of total reads) that hit in the cache.

Read Hit %

Percentage of write (out of total writes) that hit in the cache.

Write Hit %

Number of lines locked in the cache per second.

Lock Blk/s

Free space for the cache.

Free Pages

Number of clean cache pages (valid data on page).

Clean Pages

Number of dirty pages that have been modified exactly 1 time. A page is dirty when it has
been modified in cache but not written to disk.

Write1 Pages

Number of dirty pages that have been modified more than 1 time.

WriteN Pages

Number of pages scheduled to be written to disk.

Write Scheduled Pages

Number of pages being currently written by the flusher to disk.

Writing Pages

During node down, number of dead node pages recovered that have to be written to disk.
