Configuring a logical switch for XISL use
When you create a logical switch, it is configured to use XISLs by default. However, in some cases
XISL use is not supported.
Use the following procedure to allow or disallow the logical switch to use XISLs in the base fabric.
Limitations and restrictions of Virtual Fabrics
on page 283 for restrictions on XISL use.
1. Connect to the physical chassis and log in using an account with the chassis-role permission.
2. Use the setContext command to set the context to the logical switch you want to manage, if you are
not already in that context.
setcontext fabricID | switchname
The fabricID parameter is the FID of the logical switch you want to switch to and manage. The
switchname parameter is the name assigned to the logical switch. You can only use one parameter
at a time.
3. Use the switchShow command and check the value of the Allow XISL Use parameter.
4. Enter the configure command:
configure
5. Enter y after the Fabric Parameters prompt:
Fabric parameters (yes, y, no, n): [no] y
