Using HD SC Setup to test a SCSI hard disk
You can test a SCSI hard disk with the HD SC Setup application on the System
Startup disk.
1. Start HD SC Setup by double-clicking its icon.
The main dialog box of the program appears.
2. Select the hard disk you want to test, using the Drive button if
necessary.
The disk's SCSI device number is displayed above the Drive button; the disk
name (called the volume name on the screen) is displayed in the message box
at the bottom of the screen.
When using Apple HD/SC Setup, it is possible to test the current startup
disk.
3. Click Test.
An alert box appears before testing begins, asking you to confirm or cancel
the test.
4. Click OK.
Testing begins; a spinning beach ball indicates that testing is under way.
5. When a message informs you that testing is complete, click Quit.
If the test reveals problems with the SCSI hard disk, try using the Disk
First Aid program to repair the damage. If that does not work, consult your
authorized Apple dealer.
