1. Start up with the disk on which you want to install a font or desk
accessory.
2. Insert the System Additions disk (or another disk that contains the
Font/DA Mover and a fonts or desk accessories file).
The illustration on the next page shows the icons of the Font/DA mover, a
fonts file, and a desk accessories file.
If you have only one floppy disk drive (and no hard disk drive), you must
eject your startup disk in order to insert the second disk. Installation will
require several disk swaps.
If you have a hard disk, you may find it convenient to store the Font/DA
Mover there. In that case, the disk you insert in this step needs only the
fonts or desk accessories file.
3. Open the Font/DA Mover by double-clicking its icon.
The Font/DA Mover dialog box appears with the Font option selected. The box
on the left shows a list of the fonts currently installed in the System file
on the startup disk.
4. If you want to install desk accessories, click the Desk Accessory button
at the top of the dialog box.
Skip this step if you want to install fonts.
The box on the left shows a list of the desk accessories currently installed
in the System file on the startup disk.
5. Click the Open button below the empty list box on the right side of the
dialog box.
A directory dialog box appears, with which you locate and open a fonts or
desk accessories file.
6. If the fonts or desk accessories file you want is not shown in the
directory dialog box, use the Drive and Open buttons as necessary to locate
it.
7. Select the file's name, then click Open.
The directory dialog box disappears, and the fonts or desk accessories in the
file are listed in the box at the right side of the Font/DA Mover dialog box.
8. Select the font or desk accessory you want to install by clicking its
name in the list on the right.
You may need to scroll through the list to see the name of the font or desk
accessory you want.
When you click the name of a font or desk accessory, small markers appear on
the Copy button, showing the direction in which the selected item will move.
The amount of disk space occupied by the font or desk accessory is displayed
between the two list boxes. If you selected a font, a sample of the font
appears in the message area at the bottom of the dialog box.
