If you do not type a new name, the disk will have the name "Untitled" when it
is initialized. (You can change the disk name later by renaming its icon on
the desktop.)
5. Click OK.
Initialization proceeds, with a message reporting its progress. When the
process is complete, the disk icon appears on the desktop, with the name you
typed (or "Untitled," if you didn't type a name).

Installing system software on a floppy disk
If your Macintosh has a hard disk that has system software installed on it,
you already have your startup disk and do not need to create any floppy disks
to use as startup disks.
If your Macintosh has only floppy disk drives, you may want to create several
startup disks to use with different application programs for convenience.
(Not all application program disks are startup disks. Even when a program
disk is a startup disk, you may prefer to start up from your own customized
startup disk -- for example, if you want access to more fonts and desk
accessories than would fit on the same disk with the program.)
To install the system software, you will need
- the System Startup disk
- the System Additions disk
- an initialized floppy disk
!! IMPORTANT: For installation and use of System 6.0 or any later version
of the Macintosh system software, Apple recommends that you use either a hard
disk and one floppy disk drive, or two floppy disk drives. (It is possible to
install the system software on a Macintosh with one floppy disk drive, but
the process can be very time-consuming.) !!
The Installer provides two options -- Easy Install and Customize. These
instructions cover the Easy Install process, which is suitable for most
Macintosh users. (To learn more about the Customize option, see "Creating a
Customized Startup Disk" later in this chapter.)
When you are installing on a floppy disk, the Installer automatically creates
a minimum-size system and installs only the ImageWriter printer driver.
If your Macintosh uses devices whose drivers are not included in the standard
software, you can use the customized installation process to create or modify
your system.
You begin the installation procedure with your computer switched off.
1. Insert the System Startup disk in the internal floppy disk drive.
