l2-tunnel

Syntax

l2-tunnel {source {source-ip | source-interface-type source-interface-number} | destination
destination-ip}

no l2-tunnel {source {source-ip | source-interface-type source-interface-number} | destination
destination-ip}

Command Default

The Layer 2 tunnel is not configured by default.

Parameters

source

Specifies the Layer 2 tunnel source address.

source-ip

Specifies the source address of the Layer 2 tunnel that is used as the Source IP
address in the outer IP header.

source-interface-type

Specifies the interface type. The IP address of this interface is used as the
Source IP address.

source-interface-number

Specifies the interface number. The IP address of this interface is used as the
Source IP address.

destination

Specifies the Layer 2 tunnel destination address.

destination-ip

Specifies the destination address of the Layer 2 tunnel that is used as the
Destination IP address in the outer IP header.

Modes

Layer 2 tunnel interface configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

The Layer 2 tunnel source address is used for the SIP in the outer IP header. If you are configuring the
Layer 2 tunnel source, you can specify the interface type or interface instead of specifying the IP
address. In this case, the IP address of the interface will be used as the SIP. The no form of the
command removes the source and destination configurations of the Layer 2 tunnel.

The Layer 2 tunnel destination address is used for the DIP in the outer IP header.

The command must be issued on the specific tunnel interface.

Examples

The following example shows how to configure the source and destination address of Layer 2 tunnel.

device(config)# interface l2-tunnel 1

device(config-l2-tnif-1)# l2-tunnel mode vxlan eline

device(config-l2-tnif-1)# l2-tunnel source 10.0.0.1

device(config-l2-tnif-1)# l2-tunnel destination 20.0.0.1
