interface l2-tunnel
Creates a Layer 2 tunnel interface.
Syntax interface l2-tunnel tunnel-id
no interface l2-tunnel tunnel-id
Command Default The Layer 2 tunnel interface is not configured by default.
Parameters tunnel-id
Specifies the tunnel ID for the Layer 2 tunnel interface.
Modes Global configuration mode
Usage Guidelines Use this command to configure a Layer 2 tunnel interface and enter interface configuration mode. Only
eight tunnels can be configured. The no form of the command deletes the configuration.
You do not need to configure an IP address for the configured tunnel interface because it is a Layer 2
interface.
Examples The following example creates the Layer 2 tunnel interface 1:
device(config)# interface l2-tunnel 1
The details of the Layer 2 tunnel interface 1 are displayed in the show interface brief command output.
