13.17 The HELP Function
The HELP function can aid you in situations in which you need clear
instructions before you can continue (for example, to retract the
tool after an interruption of power). The miscellaneous functions
may also be explained and executed in a help file.
The TNC 426, TNC 430 offers several help files, which you can
select by means of the file management.
The HELP function is not available on every machine. The
machine tool manual provides further information.
Selecting and executing a HELP function
ú Select the MOD function: Press the MOD key
ú To select the HELP function: Press the HELP soft key.
ú On the TNC 426, TNC 430, call the file manager (PGM
MGT key) and select a different help file, if necessary.
ú Use the up and down arrow keys to select a line in the
HELP file, which is marked with an #
ú Use the NC start key to execute the selected HELP
function
13.18 Operating Time

time displays. Refer to your machine tool manual.
The MACHINE TIME soft key enables you to show different
operating time displays:
Operating time Meaning
Control ON Operating time of the control since
its commissioning
Machine ON Operating time of the machine tool since
its commissioning
Program Run Operating time for program-controlled
operation since commissioning
