shown in the mask test mode or the eye mode in that the vertical scaling is not set to place the “0”
and “1” levels at 1.5 and 6.5 vertical divisions and it is not displayed with a compliance mask.
Edge Fit (EdgeFit)
Jitter measurements are computed by accumulating data around each transition of a repeating
data pattern. The edge fit display shows the measured data from a selected edge as a persistence
map that extends vertically to the range defined by the Fit Region control, and horizontally over the
range of jitter for that edge. Through a jitter dialog control, the displayed edge is settable from 0 to
the maximum for the data pattern, which is usually 1/2 the number of symbols, but dependent upon
the number of actual transitions in the signal. Cursors on the persistence map show the slew rate of
the edge and the displacement from its ideal location, the value of which is displayed as the
lowercase Greek letter delta. The total number of samples measured on the selected edge is
shown in parentheses.
