The Up state of the portal server indicates that the portal server is reachable. If the AC detects that the
portal server is unreachable, you can see the portal server status is Down in the output, and the AC
generates a server unreachable trap "portal server newpt lost" and disables portal authentication on the
access interface, so the client can access the external network without authentication.
Configuring direct portal authentication using local portal
server
Network requirements
As shown in
, a wireless client is connected to the network through the AP. The client belongs
to VLAN 2 and the AP belongs to VLAN 3. The client must pass direct portal authentication to access
Internet resources. Before authentication, the client can access only the local portal server.
The AC (access device) uses the local portal server that runs HTTPS to perform direct portal authentication
for users. The local portal server can push customized pages according to the SSID of the user logon
interface.
Use a RADIUS server as the authentication/accounting server.

Configuration procedure
NOTE:
Before performing portal configurations, be sure to:
•
Configure IP addresses for the client, AC, and server as shown in
and make sure that they
have IP connectivity between each other.
•
Complete the PKI domain configuration, and get the local certificate and the CA certificate. For more
configuration information, see "Configuring PKI."
•
Configure the SSL server policy access-policy. For more configuration information, see "Configuring
SSL."
•
Edit the authentication page files to be bound with the client SSID.
•
Configure the RADIUS server properly to provide normal authentication/accounting services for users.
•
Do not configure the wireless client and the AP to be in the same subnet. Otherwise, after portal
authentication is enabled for the subnet, the AP cannot establish a connection with the AC.
1.
Configure a RADIUS scheme on the AC:
# Create a RADIUS scheme named rs1 and enter its view.
