OFF: The SHARK™ IAD does not assign any addresses.

All LAN side workstations must have a static address

Server: The SHARK™ IAD operates as a typical DHCP

server handing out LAN addresses as workstations are
attached to the network and reassigning addresses to
workstations whose lease time has run out.

Relay-Agent: The SHARK™ IAD acts as a "pass-

through" entity. In this mode, any address assigned by an
upstream DHCP server that is located on the WAN
network will be passed through to a workstation on the
LAN side network. The SHARK™ IAD does not assign
any addresses in this mode; consequently workstations
must get their addresses from the upstream WAN side
DHCP server.
