Stop
System
Purpose
Stops all motion and programs when set to ON.
Syntax
STOP = value
value
The value can be ON, a nonvolatile flag Bn, a volatile flag Fn,
or another system flag.
Remarks
The following action will take place when a STOP = ON is executed. The STOP may
come from an instruction in a program, a Host Language X command, the X Kill
Motion Input or the Run Control Dialog box. When the STOP instruction is executed:
• If a main program is running, the program is aborted.
• If the motor is being commanded to move, it is decelerated to a stop. The rate of
deceleration is determined by the system Acceleration variable, system Velocity vari-
able and the present velocity. The system Velocity and Acceleration values are set in
the Parameter menu, Velocity/Accel dialog box. The deceleration rate will equal:
• After the Feedrate Slew Time (above), if a Jog input is ON the jogging motion will
continue.
• If a program was running AND outputs have default assignments to turn OFF (ON)
when a program ends, they will turn OFF (ON).
• If assigned, the Program Running output will turn OFF.
Note: The X input does not stop Jog input motion. Jog motion will slew to a stop and
then begin again.
