Modifying Containers

Understanding the NVRAM Write-back Cache Attributes You can
Specify

You use the

container set cache

command to enable a

container’s NVRAM write-back cache. Before enabling a container’s
NVRAM write-back cache, consider the following attributes you can
specify:

Unprotected

Enable write cache

Setting a Container’s NVRAM Write-back Cache to Unprotected

The

unprotected

attribute indicates whether to set the container’s

NVRAM write-back cache to disable, enable when protected, or
enable always. You use the

unprotected

attribute in conjunction

with the

enable write cache

attribute to accomplish the desired

setting.

In the following example, the

container set cache

command

with the /unprotected switch enables the NVRAM write-back cache
on container 0 only if a battery is present and its status is Ok. Note
that the affect of the /unprotected switch is determined by the
setting of the /write_cache_enable switch. See Enabling Write Cache
on page 9-23 for further information.

HPN0> container set cache /write_cache_enable=TRUE

/unprotected=FALSE 0

Executing: container set cache /write_cache_enable=TRUE
