Displaying and Specifying a Cluster Partner
The cluster partner attribute identifies the cluster partner on
which a controller resides in a cluster environment. See the Flexible
Array Storage Tool User’s Guide for a discussion of cluster concepts.
The controller on a cluster node is referred to as a partner. The
controller that you open with the CLI
open command is referred to
as the controlling partner. The CLI open command also opens the
other partner, which is referred to as the peer partner.
For example, assume that controllers reside on the following
partners:
■ Partner A resides on the computer system called bulldog
■ Partner B resides on the computer system called terrier
If you open the controller that resides on bulldog, Partner A
becomes the controlling partner and Partner B becomes the peer
partner. If you open the controller that resides on terrier, Partner B
becomes the controlling partner and Partner A becomes the peer
partner.
The CLI allows you to do the following:
■ Display a cluster partner
■ Specify a cluster partner
Note: Clusters are only supported on Windows NT and
Windows 2000 (basic disks only).
Displaying a Cluster Partner
To display a cluster partner, use the container list command,
as in the following example. In the example, the Cluster Partner
column indicates 0, which means that the container resides on the
controlling partner.
