command after promoting a volume set that was built from multiple
partitions with the
container promote
command.
The
container create mmirror
command is fully dynamic. If
you use this command, users will not see any change or experience
any interruption in service. However, performance may be reduced.
To work with a multi-level container of mirror sets, you must
understand:
■
The multi-level container of mirror set attributes you can
specify
■
How to create a multi-level container of mirror sets
■
Multi-level container of mirror set creation in a NetWare
environment
■
Some tasks to perform after creating a volume set of mirror
sets
The following sections discuss each of these topics.
Understanding the Multi-level Container of Mirror Sets Attributes You
can Specify
You use the
container create mmirror
command to create a
volume set of mirror sets. Before creating a volume set of mirror sets,
consider the following volume set of mirror sets attributes you can
specify:
■
I/O wait duration
■
synchronous or asynchronous command execution
Specifying the I/O Wait Duration for a Volume Set of Mirror Sets
The number of milliseconds the controller waits between the I/Os
required to create the mirror set.
In the following example, the
container create mmirror
command with the /io_delay switch creates a volume set of mirror
sets with an I/O delay of 10 milliseconds.
HPN0> container create mmirror /io_delay=10 0 (2,2,0)
Executing: container create mmirror /io_delay=10 0
(CHANNEL=2,ID=2,LUN=0)
